Founded in 1652, in Ueno Ikenohata, Domyo has been preserving the tradition of hand-dyeing and handcrafting kumihimo while continuing to expand in other domains. Kiichiro Domyo, the 10th generation owner, has been researching historical kumihimo cords that remain in various parts of Japan and creating obijime based on ancient techniques.
