Iida Mizuhiki is a local product that has been designated as “Traditional Crafts of Nagano Prefecture” and has a history of 300 years and represents Iida City. Mizuhiki (decorative cords of twisted paper) was born from “Motoyui” which is the paper string used to ties up the samurai’s topknot. The lustrous and durable Mizuhiki, which is an improvement of Motoyui, is called “Bunshichi Motoyui”, and since its origin was in the Iida area, it has come to be called “Iida Mizuhiki”. In addition to such traditional crafts using Iida Mizuhiki, we produce a wide range of items such as pop accessories that make you feel the new possibilities of Mizuhiki.MASAKICHI is a member of this Iida Mizuhiki project and is one of the successors to the “Iida Mizuhiki” art.
