The quality and beauty pursued by OITOMI’s craftsmen are realized in the casting process which makes use of the characteristics of iron, the polishing process which accentuates the beauty, and the design which brings out the sensitivity of the craftsmen. In 1950, “Kagome”, an iron kettle of OITOMI’s original design, was exported to the United States, and this was the first Nambu ironware introduced to the world in Japan. The Nambu ironware is now well known in the world, but the first step was taken by OITOMI.
