Two-layered folding screen with Japanese embroidery and small crape accessories (Seasonal scenes)

●This two-panel folding screen is decorated with Japanese embroidery and silk chirimen tassels depicting the four seasons of Japan, such as flowers, snow rabbits, and fireflies. The tassel decoration can be freely removed and replaced with an item of your choice. As an interior folding screen that can be used throughout the year, it can be used as an accent to enhance not only a Japanese-style room but also a Western-style room (produced in 2016).

Handicraft artist and kakehagi artisan. Japanese embroidery works created while in high school won both the Prime Minister’s Prize and the then Minister of Education’s Prize at the National Japanese Handicrafts Art Exhibition. It was donated to the Japanese Embassy in the United Kingdom. Since then, she has received awards at the same exhibition and several other exhibitions of her works. She has been active for about 70 years as a kakehagi artisan and craftsman using a variety of techniques, and for about 30 years as a handicrafts artist with students in several cities.
