●Material:Silk, cowhide, acrylic, metal, cotton
●Size:22cm×17cm×5cm/200g
●While plain-looking from a distance, the dyed komon is filled with detailed patterns up close. This bag is dyed by skilled craftsmen using Ise-katagami, featuring a combination of hand-dyed fabric and natural leather. By attaching an acrylic chain handle to it, it can be enjoyed in both Japanese and Western fashion.
※long shoulder strap is included.
●Artist:Ishizuka Senko Limited.
Edo komon dyeing is done by hand, one piece at a time, using Ise-katagami. “Ishizuka Senko” has been carrying on the “chic philosoph” and “dyeing techniques” found in this tradition since the middle of the Edo period. Kumiko Ishizuka, the fifth and current generation of craftsmen, has branded the company under the trade name “Kataume” from the days of Umejiro, the founder and first-generation owner. She continues to share the hidden potential of “dyeing” using traditional techniques and new approaches, such as developing the kimono not only as a kimono per se but also as a modern fashion item.
