KOMON WOOD CLOCK
●Material:Zelkova
●Size:φ28.4cm×5cm/690g
●This is a collaboration product that combines the design of “SARAKICHI”, a brand of chic “komon pattern” products that have been handed down since the Edo period, and the technology of “MOKULABO”, a lumber dealer’s woodworking brand that has been in business for 100 years. The komon pattern used for kimonos is a design that has transcended time and has been loved for a long time. It is also a good match for today’s lifestyle. Why not incorporate Japan’s proud chic culture into your daily life and enjoy it more freely and casually?
●Artist:SARAKICHI
Founded in 1914, “Tomita Senko-gei” is a workshop that dyes Edo komon and Edo sarasa. The workshop, which creates a charming atmosphere with its old tools, is also a treasure house where 120,000 pieces of Ise-katagami are stored. Atsushi Tomita, the fifth-generation owner, has discovered the value of dyed komon in traditional patterns and has planned and proposed various products for modern life, such as scarves and parasols, using Edo komon and Edo sarasa stencils. He continues to take on the challenge of creating new value.
