“Kakinuma Ningyo” was founded in 1950 as a workshop for Edo Kimekomi dolls. Toshimitsu Kakinuma, the third-generation owner, studied under doll master Eiko Serikawa and Toko Kakinuma of the second generation from the age of 25. Inheriting and understanding the history and techniques of “Kimekomi”, he has been actively developing new products based on his unique sense while pursuing the possibilities of this art.
