Sand Kiriko - Hokusai "Great Wave"
●Material：Soda glass
●Size：φ70mm×H60mm/115g
●The Hokusai series featuring popular products. When you pour alcohol into the glass, the “Great Wave” engraved on the bottom is reflected wildly on the side, which is unique to suna-kiriko. The light blue base is covered with azure-colored glass, which is made of custom-ordered “irokise glass” commonly used in Edo-kiriko.
●Artist：SHIINA KIRIKO (GLASS-LAB)
“GLASS-LAB” breathes new life into the traditional Edo Kiriko glass technique with suna-kiriko (sand faceting), which is a combination of hira-kiriko (flat faceting), for which there are less than 10 specialized craftsmen in Japan, and the world’s leading sandblasting to draw lines 0.09 mm in width. Takayuki Shiina, the third-generation owner, is a master craftsman who creates art in his hands by incorporating various new ideas. With a mission to “move the heart” of the recipient, he continues to come up with glass products that are “created together” with the giver.
